This bench is a piece of history. In his day Willy B\u00f6hler prepared his famous cakes and pastry on this table. Thousands of cake creations and pastry with fruits and tons of cream were prepared on it and generations of guests enjoyed them. As times changed, it was not stylish enough to compete with new and practical kitchen furniture. It was moved to the very back of the kitchen and was forgotten there. While preparing the renovation works of winter 2016\/-17 this gem was rediscovered by Melinda and Manuel and brought to specialists who refurbished it and restored its glory. Now it takes pride of place in the middle of the breakfast buffet and is much admired by all generations visiting the hotel. Willy B\u00f6hler would certainly be touched seeing this. <\/p>\n

In 2012, the third generation of the B\u00f6hler family took over. Norbert and Marianne\u2019s son Manuel now runs the hotel with his wife Melinda and their young son Adrian completes the family. <\/p>\n

The 70\u2019s and 80\u2019s were also an exciting period in the history of Hotel B\u00f6hler. More and more guests visited the hotel, many of them coming from the USA. They enjoyed staying at the Hotel which was successfully operated by Wolfgang, Karin, Marianne and Norbert B\u00f6hler since 1978. Guests from abroad brought an excellent interior idea to them: at that time divine cherry wood was the latest must have for an elaborate interior. 1984 extensive renovation work were completed at Hotel B\u00f6hler and the owners invested in cherry wood panels for the design of the restaurant. The guests from abroad should feel like at home. And they still do\u2026 the wood panel helps in keeping this memory alive. <\/p>\n

In 1977 Willi and Maria retired and the next generation took over. Two of their three sons, Wolfgang and Norbert, began running the hotel with their wives Karin and Marianne. Together they continued Hotel B\u00f6hler\u2019s tradition of hospitality, personal service, and a high standard through constant modernisation. <\/p>\n

Everything was supposed to be perfect! In the 70\u2019s, Helmut and Irma got married here, at the Hotel B\u00f6hler. Many citizens of B\u00f6blingen have used the great hall for their family festivities: excellent food and cosyness, friendly staff and festiveness. For celebrating their anniversary 30 years later, Helmut wished for the same WMF-silverware, that was used at their wedding. The staff searched for days in the cellar and the attic and finally they found the precious silverware. After being cleaned and polished it was put on the banquet table and the festivity could begin. Helmut and Irma couldn\u2019t be happier. Until today they visit the Hotel B\u00f6hler on each wedding anniversary date and have a drink. There is one special spot in the lounge, where they would always stop: right in front of the old silverware which is now attached to wooden wall panels as part of the decoration. Fabulous memories! <\/p>\n

They decided to start their own hotel and as the refugee families moved on, they acquired the rooms above their cafe and converted them to hotel rooms. Hotel B\u00f6hler flourished and Willi and Maria added a fourth and fifth floor to the building. <\/p>\n

The floors above Willi and Maria\u2019s new cafe were initially used to house World War 2 refugees. However, as Southwest Germany\u2019s industries and businesses recovered Willi and Maria became aware of more and more business travellers seeking accommodation. <\/p>\n

At B\u00f6blingen\u2019s Postplatz there had been a Hotel before the Second World War and the tradition would continue. The new building also contained a Stylish Departement Store called \u201cHaus des guten Einkaufs\u201d. Life here was vibrant with young people talking and dancing, eating cake and ice cream. There are still memorabilia in the hotel from this time. It was a place of encounters, hospitality and community.<\/p>\n

In 1953 Willi and Maria B\u00f6hler, inspired by the entrepreneurial spirit of the times, decided to open their own Pastry Shop combined with a dance cafe. He was a Master Pastry Chef, she was a Tailor and together they chose to locate their cafe in the building where Hotel B\u00f6hler currently stands. <\/p>\n
